From Ethos Behavioral Health Group’s The Prairie Recovery Center comes a brand new residential treatment center for adolescents struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health issues, The Prairie Academy.

Nestled in the heart of Texas Hill Country in Round Top, Texas, central to Austin, Houston and San Antonio, The Prairie Academy will offer a serene respite from daily life for adolescents ages 13-17 to heal with the support of our experienced medical and mental health professionals, focusing on a personalized, psychodynamic treatment framework based on creating transformational experiences, all with the goal of achieving long-term wellness, personal growth and recovery.

Beginning in 2014 with the co-founding of Ethos Wellness – Lovett, a community of therapists in the heart of Houston’s Montrose community, Ethos Behavioral Health Group was founded by Robert Hilliker, LCSW-S, LCDC, Ceci Hudson Torn, DSW, LPC-A and Will Davis with the goal of providing clients with a full continuum of behavioral health care.

Now encompassing multiple small-by-design outpatient healing centers under the name Ethos Wellness and The Prairie Recovery Center, a residential, co-gender substance use treatment facility helping adults since 2018, the Ethos family is thrilled to add The Prairie Academy to their list of adolescent offerings in order to meet the ever-expanding need of teens and their families searching for wellness, personal agency and, most importantly, freedom from substance use.

In order to provide the most effective treatment possible, The Prairie Academy will assess each client using an in-depth diagnostic evaluation. With results in hand, our team will work with the patient and their family to craft an individual treatment plan with collaborative goals to ensure long-term recovery.

In addition to the unique challenges and strengths that come with adolescence, we believe in treating the whole person in the context of their environment, examining the following aspects of each individual:

  • Biological
  • Psychological
  • Social
  • Cultural
  • Spiritual

The Prairie Academy will offer detoxification and stabilization, a treatment framework focused on cultivating meaningful experiences, and multiple, inclusive addiction recovery programs. Both individual and group therapy are essential components of the healing process.

The Prairie Academy has enlisted the help of The Bridge School to ensure each client remains engaged and successful in their education, no matter where they are in their academic journey. Our Education Coordinator will work to communicate with all institutions, the patient and their family to ensure a seamless transition, while an on-site classroom will provide patients with everything they need to work at their own pace, on their own milestones, with support available as-needed. Families should rest assured that The Bridge School is an accredited institution, offering the same levels of courses and credits as your teen’s current school, and that no coordination will be needed on their part.
