“I’m so grateful to be a part of such a clinically-sophisticated, dual-diagnosis treatment program. There are so many unique aspects to The Prairie, and The Pilgrimage comes to mind first. The Pilgrimage is a transformational journey toward one’s purpose through a culture of integrative healing. Another unique aspect includes the individual’s five, one-to-one weekly interventions with their therapist, case manager, recovery specialist, family therapist, and nurse practitioner. There is a special something you feel when you enter The Prairie’s beautiful countryside setting. I look forward to connecting you to The Prairie, and for you to experience working with their highly-experienced staff.”

The Pilgrimage logo

Created by The Prairie Recovery Center Chief Executive Officer Robert Hilliker, LCSW-S, LCDC and developed in collaboration with Dr. Sara K. Schneider, Founder and CEO of The Human Journey, The Pilgrimage is an active, experiential, life-as-laboratory curriculum that enables those in treatment not merely to learn about the concepts involved in their personal recovery process, but actually to begin practicing the skills of a recovered person. Through weekly experiences, The Pilgrimage works to help people grow into the full measure of themselves in order to lead meaningful lives and engage healthily in relationships. Exclusive to The Prairie and other Ethos Behavioral Health Group healing centers, clients will come face to face with the spiritual tasks of committing to their own personal pathway for healing, joining with others both within and outside of recovery communities, contributing back to loved ones, offering service to others, and committing to the long haul of personal growth.

Our Comprehensive Approach to Care

Long-term recovery is a journey—one that we guide clients through with compassion and expertise. Upon completion of medical detox and stabilization, we examine the whole person in the context of their environment and work with clients to craft an integrated treatment plan specific to their needs. This includes a choice in recovery programs, individual and group therapy tailored to co-occurring disorders, functional medicine, psychiatric evaluations, and extensive family involvement (process groups, weekly therapy and monthly intensive therapy).

An Integrated Family of Healing Centers

The Prairie is part of Ethos Behavioral Health Group, an integrated family of healing centers in Texas and Illinois with levels of care ranging from inpatient to outpatient treatment options. To help sustain recovery, we connect patients with resources within the Ethos system of care for ongoing outpatient treatment. Moreover, aftercare conversations begin the day a client arrives at The Prairie. To learn more about Ethos Behavioral Health Group, visit www.ethosbehavioralhealth.com.
